- Autumn NCS (National Citizen Service) Programme -17 September 2020
The programme is free to all students in Year 11 and 12, and young people not in education, employment or training aged between 16 and 18. It will include outdoor activities, opportunities to learn new skills, meet new people and finishes with a social action project that will help your local community. It will take place over October half term and the social action hours will take plave over weekends and evenings. I would appreciate if we can have a presence in school to promote this but understand if external visitors are limited due to the current situation. It supports all schools and pupils in Year 11 and Year 12 with their transitioning back to school in the new academic year, at no cost to the school. The programme focuses on seven core areas, which can be tailored and are flexible in meeting the needs of your school, the areas are:
- Post-COVID socialisation
- Citizenship/British values
- Health and wellbeing
- Preparation for school return
- Careers and progression guidance
- Employability
- Skills for independent living
